Regulatory Compliance Consultant (Market Structures & Investment Banking)

London, England, United Kingdom · Bovill expand job description ↓

Market Structures & Investment Banking Consultant

Over the coming months Bovill’s Markets team will be looking to hire a client facing consultant to be based in the London office. We already have a broad range of clients, spanning Regulated Markets, CCPs, CSDs, MTF/OTFs, Investment Banks, and specialist Brokers. We help our clients deal with the challenge of market-focussed regulation, including Benchmark regulation, EMIR, and MAR. We think there is a tremendous opportunity to expand our practice in the sector and as a result, this is a really exciting opportunity for the right person.

The role involves playing a leading part in all the team’s activities –from giving specialist advice on detailed regulatory requirements through to delivering complex regulatory implementation projects. The team also participates in marketing and business development, technical research and producing technical materials, and contributing more generally to the development of Bovill.

Currently, a large part of our work involves helping firms and venues prepare for the implementation of regulatory change, but our advice covers the full range of conduct and prudential issues.

The ideal candidate will have demonstrable compliance experience within a Management Consulting firm. Practical experience is critical. A legal or compliance qualification would be a benefit. A passion for solving interesting problems, a love of managing relationships with clients and great teamwork are all important.

Technical skills are essential – You will need to demonstrate a deep understanding of both the business issues in this sector across a range of asset classes, as well as the key regulatory challenges faced including EMIR, Benchmarking, and MAR. Familiarity with the key aspects of EU rules and the FCA handbook is critical. We recognise that no consultant is expert in all areas, but we do expect a broad understanding, with particular specialist knowledge in a specific subject and an appetite to keep learning.

In return, we offer the opportunity to work in a high trust and low control entrepreneurial environment, where you are given the autonomy to make decisions and have a real impact in a fast-moving environment with plenty of scope for advancement. You will be working alongside like-minded individuals and will have access to lots of training and development. Our compensation package is extremely competitive, and there is an opportunity for profit-related bonuses.
